Accident

An unforeseen, unplanned or enexpected event or series of events that causes physical or property damage.

In the context of an insurance claim, an accident is usually something that is not expected and could not have been reasonably foreseen. For example, if you are in your home and a tree falls on it, that would be considered an accident.
